BCRPA AND CFES APPROVED WORKSHOP FOR 5 CECs
"Your pelvic floor course is far superior to any pelvic floor physiotherapy/ultrasound instructions bar none. I have tried many physiotherapy sessions for pelvic floor strength using their ultrasound method as they instruct you. It was very discouraging.
With your program, I felt I engaged the entire process and found relaxation in my body and strength in the days following the class day. I just need motivation to do it daily to strengthen the pelvic floor and core.
I found your compassion and genuine desire to really help people with a whole body holistic approach rare and unlikely in today's world, especially the physiotherapy medical model approach.
Your program is worth hundreds more than you charge, again I compare the physiotherapy fees which are astronomical and unsuccessful. Your level of knowledge is superb on nutrition, body mechanics, psychology, trauma and how emotions are stored in the body. You are a gift to anyone who studies with you."

"Teresa's passion combined with her thorough information produced an exceptional workshop. From the moment I walked through the door, Teresa's warmth and enthusiasm for people to create healthy change radiated into her teaching. Her workshop taught me the practical exercises I needed to create new weekly routines for strengthening my pelvic health.
I highly recommend that anyone who is motivated to be proactive about their pelvic health invest in this highly informative and practical workshop."

Hello, I'm Teresa Ojinma. My passion for movement began at a young age through participation in sports. By the time I reached my senior year of high school, I knew I wanted to study the human body, specifically human movement. I graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology and a Certificate in Applied Human Nutrition. After graduation, I pursued a Masters of Science Degree in International Healthcare Management Economics and Policy at Bocconi University in Milan, Italy. I connected with my roots, learned about healthcare systems from around the globe, and completed my Master's Degree with an internship in Corporate Wellness at the Chevron Refinery in Richmond, California.
Upon returning to Canada, I continued my studies with the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiology and completed my Clinical Exercise Physiologist certification in 2011. This certification allowed me to widen my scope of practice to serve a larger population group from all ages with various health challenges. I also completed the Functional Movement Systems Level 1 and Level 2 training in 2013, for movement screening and correction.
In January 2014, I started my own business, Home Fitness Plus, with the desire to train clients in the comfort of their own home. This business has evolved and grown to offer not only personal training and rehabilitation services, but also microcurrent therapy and somatic movement education. In 2016, I enjoyed connecting with the community while working for the city of Surrey in the fitness centre for four years. I had a wide client base and many opportunities to teach classes and individuals about movement.
In 2017, I was introduced to somatic movement education by one of my mentors, Brian Justin, a Kinesiology Instructor at the University of the Fraser Valley. After experiencing a few clinical somatics sessions with Brian, I was fascinated and intrigued with what I was learning, and quickly realized this is the missing link in movement and healthcare! The mind controls the muscles. Once we are able to gain conscious control of our muscles, we can move more intelligently and learn how to release and relax tension in the body caused by injury, illness, stress or trauma. I was eager to further my education in somatics and completed the Essential Somatics Movement Teacher Certification in June 2019. I began teaching classes in a studio for a little over one year, then switched to teaching somatics classes online after the covid lockdown in 2020. This practice has transformed the way I live, work and teach movement. I became more interested in the spirit-mind-body connection in relation not only to movement, but to overall health and wellness.
In 2019, I was introduced to microcurrent therapy. I started training with the most technologically advanced electrotherapeutic equipment available in healthcare for pain and injury trauma rehabilitation; the Electro-Acuscope and Myopulse devices. In August 2021, I moved to Abbotsford, B.C. and began treating clients from my home clinic.
After a cancer diagnosis in 2021, I delved deeper into wholistic aspects of health and wellness and the root causes of disease. I learned the impact that stress, trauma, negative thoughts and limiting beliefs have on the physiology. I discovered that love has the power to touch and heal where no medication can ever touch. My purpose is to love God, love myself and love people.
My mission is to empower people through movement education, love, relationship, connection, application and practice. To know and understand the responsibility we have as human beings to gain a greater self-awareness that leads to transformation, restoration, freedom and success in all areas of life.
I endeavor to offer valuable health resources and education tools for an active, long, healthy life. I look forward to connect you with your goals to make lasting positive change toward your vitality and longevity.
